For quite a while, I wanted to work on a green initiative.
Something positive, useful, relevant, doable. Alright, I’ve recycle for more than twenty years now. I sometimes made compost for my kitchen garden.
But how to make a bigger difference?
I’m actually seeding the Project Seanergy Foundation social web system, which integrates an English blog (and a French blog to come) for the latest news and updates, an internal blog project for the team, a Twitter account for ProjectSeanergy conversations, a Facebook page to get in touch with all those people out there, a photos album on Flickr, etc.
As the Brand Manager of the project, I’m coaching the team in using the networks to spread the Foundation’ message, making the right people from all around the world get in touch with each other and helping them to make the project happen.
Seeding a social web system is really like taking care of a garden. It is hard work. The learning curb is kinda crazy. There are so many details. Yet, we couldn’t have done this yesterday, without spending zillions bucks in advertising, PR-ing and so on.
That’s why it is so much fun. And the rewards are already tangible. Still, there is more to come.
